On Wednesday afternoon Community Manager of Freedom Works Worthing, Rosie O'Hara and Managing Director, Jon Trigg, joined Cllr Dan Humphreys to launch a new 24/7 access cycle hub in Worthing town centre.

The secure cycle hub offers space for a total of 34 bikes and is a joint initiative between the Council and Freedom Works, with funding from West Sussex County Council (WSCC).

In order to store your bike in the secured hub, which has enhanced lighting and CCTV,  you simply have to purchase a  £30 membership to get a dedicated pass at the decommissioned entrance to the High Street multi-storey car park.

Cllr Dan Humphreys (right in picture), Leader of Worthing Borough Council and Chairman of the Worthing Walking and Cycling Action Group, said: “As a keen cyclist myself, I welcome this initiative which will have enormous benefits for the local workforce, both in securing bikes and encouraging more people to cycle to work, but also in helping to build more sustainable, affordable and healthy travel options.”

Jon Trigg, managing director of Freedom Works, which provides co-working and flexible office space in The Mill Building, Chatsworth Road and throughout three other locations in the south coast, said: “Those who use our offices often work flexible hours and want a place to safely leave their bikes at all hours. We’re really pleased that this new hub will provide that for them, and anyone else who wants to use it.”

Freedom Works teams up with Worthing Borough Council to welcome cycle hub

this looks like an excellent scheme and I'd be interested to know how it develops and what users say as I work with bicycle manufacturers
